It started with a quick google search: "best safe, nontoxic cookware." I ended up in a spiral of a rabbit hole. You have to get stainless steel like the pros .... wait no .... if you don't use cast iron, are you really cooking? .... wait no, ceramic is the only material that truly doesn't stick .... wait no, guess the safest option is to cook over an open flame like a caveman.
The struggle is real. After a lot of research (and my husband begging me to please make a decision because our 18 year old pot & pans from our wedding were falling apart), I decided on Caraway's Enameled Cast Iron Set.
After a month of cooking everything in these pots and pans, I am so happy with this gorgeous set!
First Impressions: Gorgeous & Solid!
I unboxed the Midnight Blue Enameled Cast Iron Set and thought "should I make room in the cabinet or display these?!" because they are so pretty! The glossy enameled finish on the exterior gives the pieces that sleek, high-end look without rough, raw cast iron texture—just a shiny, polished surface that’s as pretty as it is functional.
"Featuring a 3-layer enamel coating for unmatched durability and a non-toxic cooking surface, it excels in heat retention and even cooking. Seamlessly transition from stovetop to oven, mastering over a dozen techniques including searing, roasting, and more."
And then I picked up the Dutch oven and immediately realized: Oh yeah, this is cast iron. As in, cast iron cast iron. This thing is hefty—but that’s a good thing because it means it’s built to last. Which is exactly why Caraway gives you a lifetime warranty!
This post is not sponsored but Caraway sent me the Enameled Cast Iron set for review.
Cast Iron Without the Drama
Traditional cast iron can be intimidating with all it's rules: no soap, gotta season it, and don't you dare not dry it all the way or it'll rust .... but Caraway makes it nearly foolproof.
No seasoning, no worrying about rust, and no special scrubbing techniques—just good old-fashioned soap and water!
And you still get all the benefits of traditional cast iron. Caraway's Enameled Cast Iron is also oven-safe up to 500°F, so you can start a dish on the stovetop and finish it in the oven like a pro.
Performance: How'd It Cook?
Perfection!
I especially love the grill pan! I've never had one before and wasn't sure how much I would use it. But I love it so much I'm meal planning around being about to use it!
We are a eggs-for-breakfast family and finding a pan that doesn't stick when making eggs without PFAS (aka "forever chemicals") was a challenge. But with this skillet, no excessive oil needed and no hoping you have the temperature exactly right. The eggs cooked like they were supposed to and slid right off the pan!
With this set you get:
It's the perfect set to cover all your cooking needs from soups to grilling to one-pot meals to baking to stove-top popcorn.

But How Does it Clean?
Easiest dishes duty ever!
- Let It Cool
- Warm, Soapy Water
- Unlike raw cast iron, you can use soap on Caraway’s enameled surface (hallelujah!). A gentle sponge and some warm, soapy water are usually all you need.
- No Stuck-On Mess? Just a Quick Wipe!
- Most of the time, food wipes right off with minimal effort. No scrubbing, no seasoning, no drama.
- For Tougher Bits
- If something does stick (looking at you, melted cheese), just soak the pan for a few minutes with warm water, and it’ll loosen right up. A soft brush or sponge will do the trick—no harsh scouring pads needed.
- Dry & Store
- Simply towel dry or air dry, and you’re good to go. Since it's enamel-coated, you don’t have to worry about rust like you would with traditional cast iron.
Is it Worth it?
Yes!
My kitchen was in desperate need of an upgrade since we were still using our wedding gifts from 18 years ago. And Caraway's Enameled Cast Iron was the perfect choice for us.
I'm so glad I found a company that I can trust the safe, nontoxic materials they use and makes quality products that last (which is why they are able to give us a lifetime warranty on their enameled cast iron!).

Speaking of Safe Ingredients
Caraway is also on a mission to help us all “Quit Microplastics”—because nobody wants sneaky toxins in their food (or the planet). Their cookware is free from PTFE, PFOA, and other nasty chemicals found in traditional nonstick pans, meaning you can cook with confidence knowing you're not accidentally serving up a side of microplastics with your eggs (yuck!).
Less toxic junk in your kitchen, better cookware for the planet—sounds like a win-win to me.
Be sure to also check out their microplastic-free tools, food storage, gadgets, and cookware here.
