I started this blog in June, 2013. I had absolutely no idea what would happen after that. I am so grateful to all of you, my readers. I wake up bright and early at 5:30 am each morning to get some work time in before my 2 year old wakes up. And every morning I am blown away that this is my job! Thank you so much for being a part of this community with me. And here is what you read in 2014. These are the most viewed posts.
#1. One Year Without Shampoo
This article won by a landslide! Natural beauty products are a hot topic right now and haircare is no different. Next month (February, 2015) will mark my 2 year anniversary of no poo. And yep, you’ll get a new update! This post was so popular and I got sooooooo many questions regarding no poo, that I launched a new site dedicated to no poo: The No Poo Method. I discuss all things no poo on that site and answer lots of trouble shooting questions. Check it out! Find my no poo ebook, The No Poo Method, here.
#2. The Best Natural Exfoliants and DIY Facial Scrub Recipes
We all want glowing, younger looking skin. And we all want it quick, easy, and cheap. This list of natural exfoliants does exactly that. I use baking soda everyday and then a few times a month use one of the other recipes.
#3. Oil Pulling
This is your typical oil pulling post. The what, why, and how of oil pulling. What I never expected from this post is how controversial it would become! I’m not sure why some people have opinions about me swishing oil in my mouth, but they do 😉 I have been oil pulling for about 3 years now. I oil pull on average 4 times a week. I see a difference in my digestion, my teeth are healthier, and I have less aches & pains in my back.
#4. Morning Detox Drink
This is how I start my morning during the week (I typically don’t do this during the weekends). Apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice. I also add a little tumeric and gelatin. Yummy, yummy, yummy! Well……more like tolerable.
#5. Varicose Vein Attacking Body Butter
After my back surgeries, I ended up with varicose veins in my legs. Partly a result from my injury and decreased circulation, and partly a result from the IV drugs being pumped through my veins during surgeries. My left leg got it much worse (that’s the leg with sciatica). Once I started using this body butter, I noticed a drastic difference in the color of my veins within a few weeks.
#6. Coconut Oil Hair Mask (& How to Get it Out of Your Hair)
As a no poo-er, I feel like I have put just about every thing in my kitchen in my hair at some point. And this coconut oil hair mask is one of my favorites. The trick is getting it out of your hair…….
#7. Natural Ways To Prevent Wrinkles
Wrinkles. Cute on puppies, not cute on us. Here are my favorite ways to prevent wrinkles. Number 1 is by far my favorite and I take it every single day.
#8. Kombucha: What Is It, How To Say It, & How To Make It
Ahhhhhhh, refreshing kombucha! I love it. My 2 year old loves it. I always have a batch brewing. And here’s how I do it.
#9. DIY Pore Strips
A little bit of dairy (milk, kefir, etc) and a little bit of gelatin is all you need to make nontoxic pore strips that work!
#10. Dry Body Brushing
My number 1 tip to get rid of cellulite. I dry body brush several times a week. I initially noticed a reduction in cellulite within a week and I needed less body lotion since I was exfoliating dead skin cells.
And there you have it! The Crunchy Moose’s year in a pretty little nutshell. Thanks for reading!
